Compress PDF
Make PDFs smaller for email and uploads. Photos and scans inside the file are shrunk right in your browser, so your documents are never uploaded.

How much smaller will it get?
It depends on what’s inside. PDFs full of photos or scanned pages often shrink by 50–90%. PDFs that are mostly text are already small and may barely change. If a file can’t be made smaller, you’ll get the original back.
Good to know
- Only images are made smaller. Text stays sharp and searchable.
- Compressing changes the file, so a qb2pdf seal or Adobe digital signature on it will no longer be valid. Compress first, then sign.
- Password-protected PDFs can’t be compressed. Remove the password first.
- Use View to check the quality before you send it.
